The Mind Sports Olympiad returns with it's annual series of online board game tournaments in January - MSO Grand Prix is back, and it all starts on Friday 24th January 2025!

The Grand Prix will run for just over 5 weeks, ending on Saturday 1st March 2025, and features over 60 tournaments across a wide variety of disciplines and platforms. We are delighted that PlayStrategy will be exclusively hosting 30 of the 2025 MSO Grand Prix tournaments! PlayStrategy will be holding all of the Grand Prix's Chess, Draughts and Backgammon tournaments as well as several Abstract tournaments, including Premier events in Amazons, Othello, and Oware!

The MSO is a prestigious organisation that has hosted international board game tournaments since 1997. In 2020, the MSO was forced online for the first time due to the Coronavirus pandemic. In 2022, the MSO returned to its usual in person format in London for the Summer, but also introduced its new Grand Prix series in the Spring. The Grand Prix is fully online, across multiple platforms, and is free to enter!

The format of the 2025 Grand Prix is very similar to last year's competition, you can read full details about it at the MSO's website. There are physical MSO medals to be won in all the events that are hosted on PlayStrategy! You can see the full schedule below, with PlayStrategy tournaments marked with a '[PS]':

All of the MSO's PlayStrategy events will be hosted in the Mind Sports Olympiad team, so be sure to join the team and join the events you want to play in, which will be added in the coming weeks. The MSO asks participants to register on their website (registration is not open yet, but will be shortly).
