Consider to add Minishogi Gold&Silver to your site.
The game is recognized by Japanese Shogi masters and can be played on shogitter.com:

Minishogi Gold&Silver is the same as Minishogi but with a different starting position.
Before the start of the game, each player has a set of 7 pieces, two of which - a bishop and a rook are in hand (in reserve):
1 king
1 rook
1 bishop
2 gold generals
2 silver generals

Thus, there is no need to develop a special program for this variant of mini shogi. It is enough to simply change the initial arrangement and set of pieces for regular mini shogi.

Since regular mini shogi is a game that is win-win for the second player (not proven, but many tend to think so), Minishogi Gold&Silver is an excellent alternative for playing on a 5x5 board.
As the author of this version of mini shogi, I can confidently say that the depth and complexity of Minishogi Gold&Silver are far superior to regular mini shogi.

Can you add 'Custom position mode' in Minishogi so we'll be able to play this variant?

Hi @Pokshtya it is our intention to add the ability to create games in any of the variants that are on PlayStrategy from a custom position. I can't say precisely when this functionality will be available, but it is our hope to implement this before the end of 2024.

This would then enable anyone to create a game of 'Minishogi Gold&Silver' as you have described - which does look to be an interesting setup
