GO games should be prevented from lasting forever.
If zero stones are marked as dead, there should only be two options.
1. The selection is accepted, or
2. You play a stone.
Playing a PASS here must be prohibited.

BUG at the end of GO games
Thank you for the example, currently we require players to maintain good sportsmanship to end the game as they would OTB. The offering of stones can also go back and forth so your suggestion alone would not be enough to stop bad behaviour.
Hi @woll I think your suggestion is interesting, and it is something we will look into.
#2 have to disagree on this one. IMHO it should be the bare minimum goal of an online platform to prevent obviously meaningless behaviour, which can be abused by sore losers and time wasters, as woll unfortunately experienced.
Take the example of a game of cards, like let's say blackjack, or poker.
You can program flipping the cards, moving them around, and so on. But if your goal is to implement a working game of blackjack or poker, you do not ask players to calculate things on their own, transfer the correct amount of money from their chips to the table and then to the player and so on. That would be implementing a sandbox or a simulator.
Anyway, just my two cents.
We have raised an issue to improve the go experience in regards to the suggested above. Cant promise when it will be implemented but it's in the system which is a good start.
The rules of the American Go Association state that the second time both players pass, all remaining stones are counted as alive. This seems like a good way to resolve this. If someone is in a losing position, eventually, they will run out of moves, so they will be forced to pass. Then, their opponent can pass and win. Therefore, the game will end.
That also sounds like a reasonable rule to implement that could deal with this issue. Thanks @PraseodymiumSpike
We are still considering the best approach to take and trying to find time to implement a change.
