Registration for the 2025 Mind Sports Olympiad is now open! The 29th edition of the in-person MSO will take place in London between Sunday 17th August and Monday 25th August.

The schedule features over 75 tournaments across many disciplines, including many of the games you can find right here on PlayStrategy. As the MSO's partner for their online series, there will be a number of online warmup tournaments in the MSO team. These are open for anyone to join, whether you'll be present in London or not! All of the warmup tournaments will follow the same format as the in-person event, so these will be Swiss tournaments with long time controls.

There are 19 warmup tournaments, beginning with a Chess Blitz Swiss on Thursday 10th July, and ending with a Go tournament on Sunday 10th August. Other highlights include a Chess Variants Swiss and a 7pt Backgammon tournament. All weekday tournaments will begin at 1700 UTC+0, and weekend tournaments will begin at either 1100 or 1400 UTC+0. For all tournaments you will need to wait until 15 minutes before the start time before you can register, this is to limit no-shows.

Finally, July is the month where PlayStrategy celebrates it's birthday. We are 4 this year! As usual there is a 24 hour mega medley birthday tournament! So on Friday 18th July, all of the 43 games/variants that you can find on PlayStrategy will feature at some stage. The winner of the last two birthday tournaments has been @oruro, but could it be you this year?
