Some exciting news to share... The Carcassonne World Championship took place this past weekend and we're delighted to say that PlayStrategy's own Matt Tucker (aka @statmatt) emerged victorious and is the new World Champion! After his victory in the UK Championship during the summer, Matt was invited to the World Championship in Herne, Germany. The tournament had 42 players from 37 different countries and was a 5 round Swiss tournament with the top 8 progressing to the knockouts. Matt won his first 4 games to confirm his knockout spot a round early, before losing round 5 to Latvia's Alexey Pegusevs. Alexey, who made it to the final unbeaten, then had a rematch with Matt.
