We are excited to share with you that we have adjusted the scoring system in Arena for Backgammon games. A Backgammon game can end in either a standard win, a Gammon or a Backgammon. Instead of all these win types giving you +2 points, we have added a new option to tournament setup (Status Scoring) to award an additional +1 point for Gammon and an additional +2 points for Backgammon. The streak bonus will still give +2 points, and berserk +1 point.

Be careful about resigning too early as you will give away backgammon, unless you are in a race position (no captures possible) and in a gammon or standard loss position (taken pieces off).

This new scoring option will be present in our Backgammon and Nackgammon scheduled tournaments (Weekly, Shields and Yearly).
