Bug in Go

Hi @SirTovo

White's score is calculated by:
Number of Stones on the board (23) + Number of intersections controlled (1) + Komi (7.5) = 32.5

White only controls f1. White does not control the full left side of the board (as shown in the embed above, which is from Black's perspective) as Black has stones in this area (d2, e2, e3), which makes the whole area contested. If white had played c2 and d1 then the remaining left side would be counted as White's.

When selecting dead stones, the board will highlight which areas are going to count towards Black's score and which will count towards White's score. Additionally, the proposed final score is shown in red to ensure players know what they are agreeing to.

White could have reasonably marked 12 of Black's stones as dead. These are: d2, e2, e3 (as mentioned), the four in the bottom right corner, and the five in a + shape in the middle. Alternatively White could have played a few more moves to demonstrate superiority by capturing any of the aforementioned Black groups.

Oh this is not how it works in real life :(
Thanks for information though.

Hi @SirTovo

Could you explain in detail how you would expect this all to work in real life? I'd be interested to understand the differences/confusion.

It is worth pointing out that we have had the PlayStrategy process of handling dead stones verified by some senior Go players, however I do appreciate there are slightly different rules sets available.
