We (the PlayStrategy developers) have a lot of different priorities to juggle at the moment, at this moment in time I can't give you an answer to your question. I should be able to give you a more informative reply next week.

Hello @DarkKnight, to add a variant, particularly one which is not established, we would want to be sure of two things:
- That the variant is reasonably balanced
- That the variant will be reasonably popular

Therefore we suggest that you can demonstrate to us that both these points are satisfied. It is possible to create a Chess tournament on PlayStrategy with a customised starting FEN. This will make every game in the tournament play with the given 'Starting position'. As such you will be able to run a 'Cavalry Attack' tournament with the current features on PlayStrategy.

I believe the starting FEN for Cavalry Attack is:

We want to be assured of the balance and popularity before adding the variant and before making official PlayStrategy tournaments for it.

How many players must I invite for adding the variant?

The more players and the more games played the more convincing a case for adding the variant is. We would expect multiple successful tournaments to be completed to demonstrate popularity. You can use a mix of Swiss and Arena tournaments for this.
