Interesting. "From position" should not get picked for medley. I think it will default to standard chess as there isn't an input position. You can redo the random medley variants if you want this tournament to 100% work. If you apply a change like adding or removing a variant and/or number of intervals. And then reapply back to your settings it should create a new set of variants.
We will investigate how "from position" got picked.

It should not have been possible to have 'From Position' randomly selected for a Medley tournament. We've made an update to prevent this from happening again, and in the case of your tournament, 'From Position' has been replaced with 'Chess' (which is I think what would have happened anyway but I'm not sure if it would have caused the tournament any unexpected problems).
