We are delighted to announce that we have added the games Shogi (Japanese Chess) and Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) to PlayStrategy!

Currently these are only available to play against other human players, but we will be looking to add the option to 'Play Against The Computer' for these games in the new year.

Please find the rules for these two great games in the usual place ('Learn' tab -> Rules & Variants).

We have added two different piece sets for each of these games. A classic characters variant is the default, but if you click your username in the top right, and then go to 'Piece Set' you will find the option to change to a more beginner friendly icon piece set.

Whilst enabling these changes, we have updated the default piece sets and background boards to add more of a distinction between the game families (Chess, Draughts etc). You may wish to change these to your personal preferences, and can (via your username in the top right and then 'Board Theme'.
