We are delighted to announce the release of another classic abstract game: Oware.

Oware is from the Mancala family of games that originated in Africa.

The rules are simple: move all the seeds/pebbles from one of the pits on your side of the board, leaving one seed/pebble in each consecutive pit. You capture any seeds/pebbles if your final pit is your opponent's and now contains precisely two or three seeds/pebbles, and additionally from any preceding pits that also meet these requirements.

Oware is set by default for moves to be made in a single click. However you can change this to a two click process in your preferences under the 'Game Behaviour' tab. There are also several piece sets and board themes to choose from for this game!

Oware is a regular on the Mind Sports Olympiad schedule and so we are delighted to be hosting the MSO's Grand Prix Oware tournament here on PlayStrategy, which will take place on Sunday 29th May: playstrategy.org/swiss/sAhJOfNX
