This variant of Antichess was proposed by me relatively recently, but has already aroused some interest among serious players of Losing Chess.
When it comes to Antichess (losing chess, giveaway chess), we always have to refer to the fact that, in essence, the game is solved. And it is solved in favor of White. Thus, we have to admit that Losing Chess is an unbalanced game. But not in this case. In Pawns-only Antichess, neither side has an advantage. Maybe the game is a drawish like a Checkers which, by the way, may indicate a good balance of the game itself. However, the complexity of the game is not comparable to Checkers and even exceeds the complexity of Losing Chess, judging by computer analyses of the first 'Pawns-only Antichess' games played.
The rules are simple and easy for everyone to understand:
Each player has only eight pawns, which, as expected, stand in the second (for White) and seventh (for Black) rows. The first and eighth rows remain free of any pieces.

This Antichess variant differs from the main Antichess (Losing Chess) rules only in the initial position. Otherwise, the game follows the rules of Antichess (Losing Chess) exactly.
En passant - yes
Promote to any piece, including King - yes
The aim is to lose all your pieces (and the king has no particular significance).
Despite its apparent simplicity, the game turns out to be extremely complex. I will even say that this is perhaps the only variant of Antichess where neither side has an advantage.
As always, I advise the Playstrategy team to implement this variant on your website.
Technically, this will not be difficult to do. I am sure that this variant of Antichess will give a lot of joy and fun to all fans of chess variants.
Well, while players are waiting for this exciting game to appear on the site, I invite you to the site where this version of Antichess has already been implemented: www.schemingmind.com/default.aspx

Pawns-Only Antichess
it seems pretty similar to antidraughts in some way ))
Antichess or Losing Chess or Giveaway Chess has evolved from giveaway checkers. The idea itself was taken specifically from Checkers and applied to Chess. There is no surprise.
Btw, my friend, on September 25, the first Pawns-only Antichess tournament will also be held on abstractgames.ru/index.php
So join. This is certainly not Altai Shatra, but it will be fun and interesting.
Another interesting variant, we are hoping to support "from position" in all our variants in the future, which means you will be able to setup games like this and other combinations.
