A few years ago, I made a post here that started with "In pool checkers, black is supposed to go first"

While Googling this quote leads to this website, I cannot seem to find the original post.

Anyways, I remember complaining that Pool Checkers in real life is played with Black going first. Then someone said something like "that's only in America, there is a 'unified' Pool checkers where white goes first"

Recently, I did some researched that caused the Portable Draughts Notation document to be updated. Previously it had been stated that Jamaican Pool checkers has White going first, when in reality, Black goes first. This means that the only Pool Checkers variety in the world where White goes first, is Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe. I don't know why unifying checkers meant adopting Zimbabwean rules over the original Pool Checkers games of North America.

Anyways, this is a long shot, but who exactly is in charge of the so-called "Unified Pool Checkers"?
I think they should reconsider how they unify pool checkers, based on the fact that every country except for one (🇿🇼) plays Pool Checkers with black going first.

Imagine you went on a chess site and it was perfect except black went first. That's how I feel when I play Pool Checkers on Play Strategy :D
