Whenever I make a study and play a move on the board, the piece just reverts back to its original position, even if I try the practise with computer function. Any ideas why this is?

This might be happening because you have SYNC ticked (which means it is re-syncing with the original position). If you untick that it should let you play moves.

Are there any moves in the game history, or are you creating a new study?
