Let me present two exciting, yet very simple elimination games which could attract those who love fast games.
Kōnane (sometimes wrongly simplified as 'Hawaiian checkers’)
(1) Wikipedia article : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C5%8Dnane
(2) A lot of visual information from native player: hawaiiancheckers.com
(3) Youtube videos:

(b) youtu.be/lOztjVyHVko
(c) youtu.be/xKoK5YpajjI
(4) Play against artificial intelligence (still beatable, but good for the first experience):
glukkazan.github.io/stalemate/konane.htm
Massacre Chess
(1) brainking.com/en/GameRules?tp=128
(2) Youtube video youtu.be/ruS-qr-9Mtw
(3) Try yourself at http://www.onlinesologames.com/massacre-chess (I doubt if someone will be able to beat that AI.)

Note on implementation: because only one player can be winner, it would be better if in the tournament mode players are allowed to play twice with same opponent: one time with white pieces, one time with black pieces.
