Yes I believe most games give the exact same result, but there can be a 1-point difference.
Recently a top-European amateur player lost the game at the Dutch Open (which was played with Chinese rules) forgetting to fill a dame (=take a neutral point between a black and white territory, at the end of the game). With Chinese rules, that would have given one extra point, but without that move, the game was lost by 0.5 points.
