We identified that our rules for Xiangqi (and Mini Xiangqi) were lacking in a couple of areas, and these have now been improved.
Firstly, if a game gets into a state where neither can win due to insufficient material (e.g. Only Kings, Advisors and Elephants are on the board) then the game will now automatically end and be ruled as a draw.
Secondly, we have re-introduced the opportunity to 'Claim a Draw' on repetition (like you can in Chess). This can be done be either player on the occurrence of a board position seen for the fourth time in a game.
Finally, we have also tweaked the perpetual check/chasing rules which now also require four chasing attempts (previously this was three) before a player is adjudged to have lost by these rules.
