Greetings to all participants. I'm excited to play in this tournament. Many thanks to Santiago Bedoya (Oruro) for the invitation. I want to block box 9 and 10 (Chess 2 and 3).

With the aim of ensuring a fair tournament, I would like to make an important clarification regarding possible forfeits (hopefully there won’t be any in this tournament) by players and the point system applied in each match.

FORFEITS:

- If a player makes no effort to arrange the first round (meaning they neither write to nor reply to their opponent), they will be removed from the tournament, and I will proceed to create a new bracket.

- A player who loses a round by forfeit may continue in the tournament; however, if this happens a second time, they will be removed from the event. The handling of that player's score will be as follows: if the player has played more than 50% of the tournament, their results will remain; otherwise, they will be removed from the bracket as if they had never participated.

POINTS:

Considering that if a player is removed from the tournament for the reasons mentioned above, and in order to avoid significantly affecting the scoring system, the tournament points will be awarded according to the result of each individual match based on the four games played. The total points accumulated in each game will be used as a tiebreak system in case of a possible tie.

This means that every point counts, and even if a player starts the match losing 0–3, they should still fight for that fourth point, which could be important in the tiebreak system.

I'm concerned will will run out of boxes, if we are blocking 2 now and have to pick a different 2 each time we play a round, then in the final round there will be no boxes left?? What am i missing??

I think we're only picking one each round and playing two games with it, so four games in total (your choice and opponent's choice). You cannot pick the one that you have picked, but you can still pick what the opponent picked, at least that's my interpretation.

@Jheps they way I understand it, each player is picking one box for each round (and selecting one variant inside that box) and then playing two games of that variant (one as p1 and one as p2). As both you and your opponent select one box (and so one variant) you play four games for each pairing.

Therefore with 9 players in the tournament each player is only selecting 8 boxes for playing throughout the tournament, whilst blocking 2 and each opponent blocking 2 more, so there can't be a scenario where you end up with no legal picks for the final round.
