New Variant: Monster Chess is on PlayStrategy!

Over the past few months, we have refactored our code base to properly support games with multiple actions (moves etc) in a turn. Whilst we already had Draughts and Amazons which do require players to take more than one action in a turn, these were done in bespoke ways for those games, and we wanted to make these changes to allow us greater flexibility and power when adding more and more games in the future.

As part of these changes we would like to announce that we have just released a new game, Monster Chess. See our rules page to find out how this new chess variant works: playstrategy.org/variant/monster

@PS-Greedy-One-Move is always available for a game of Monster Chess, and if you are struggling to find human opponents, then we suggest you try and make the Monster Chess Introductory tournament. All are welcome to join us on Sunday 10th December at 13:00 UTC+0: playstrategy.org/tournament/e5yIMExR

We have also released a few other smaller changes, the most notable of which is the addition of a new button on the lobby page so users can access our bots a little easier.

Thanks to all those that tested our current changes on the dev site. We are now restricting access to our test site and will reopen when appropriate.

As usual if you notice any issues, please let us know. Enjoy!

I loved it! I played 2 games already with it. Pretty difficult to mate with black :)

I noticed that there's a bug as for who is in check. This could be fixed by notating differently (so for example, 1. f4 f5 Nc6 2. etc.).

Edit: Now I did notice it still has to be implemented in the analysis board.

@Jisu101 I was just looking at your original comment. We haven't done anything in the last 30 mins, so I'm not sure where/what you think is/was wrong. Could you provide more details?

Yes, we still have work to do to add Monster Chess to Analysis boards.

I just thought is was fixed, sorry :) and then I noticed it actually wasn't fixed lol

Now I did notice, the "time out: draw" rule doesn't work on monster chess since white can still win with a lone king. I don't know if this is also for "insufficient material: draw" but that at least has to be fixed since white can always mate with a lone king.
