@oruro 1/36
This is decided according to probability theory. Combination formula without repetition: C from n to k = n!/ k!(n-k)!
This is just terrible
The probability of rolling one double is 1/36. However, there are 6 possible doubles, so the actual probability of rolling any double is 1/6.
😁
@oruro My friend, do you imagine what it’s like to throw one double in six throws? Just take two dice and do the experiment. Roll,say, 30 times and count how many doubles you get.
@Pokshtya
I have the feeling that maybe you expressed bad in #6 because what you wrote is actually wrong!
The actual probability to roll 10 doubles in 38 rolls is around 4.3%.
It is very unlikely, indeed!
@Pokshtya You wrote in #9
"In other words, it's about 3 percent. That is, 1 or 2 doubles for 30 rolls is normal. Everything else is a strong distortion".
With all due respect, this is also not correct.
The next graph shows the probabilities of rolling pairs in 38 turns.
The conclusion is stunning: it is nearly impossible to roll only 1 or 2 pairs. The most likely result is rolling 6 pairs, with a probability of 17%. You can also notice that is more likely to roll 10 doubles than 1 double in 38 turns!

@oruro yep, okay, my bad
but anyway in the game mentioned above the random number generation is just terrible
This situation is likely to occur in a single game, but very unlikely to happen many times in a match.
That is one of the reasons why Backgammon is played to the best of many games.
But that's also the magic of the game: anyone can beat the best player in one single game. 🤣
Please don't tell me about the best game with dice. I can give you many examples of games with dice where the tension, excitement and skill far exceed those of Backgammon.
There is no magic in Backgammon. This is a simple children's game that has been made into God knows what.
@Pokshtya It's not simple lol. There are many books on backgammon and you would have to devote a lot of time into becoming a master. It can be very difficult to find best move in a position. If you don't believe me, you can go to OpenGammon and try the puzzles in the puzzle section.
Are there games with dice which might be more fun or skillful than backgammon? Sure. But calling it simple is not accurate. Same way I wouldn't call chess simple because I know the rules and the movement of the pieces are easy to learn.
@FiveKnights Well said, my friend. The same I can say about Ludo.
Unfortunately, not many books have been written on Ludo, but all this is just due to a lack of understanding of how wonderful this game is! Ludo is imbued with magic and enchants both the amateur and the master. Ludo is easy to learn to play, but it will take years of hard practice to play at the grandmaster level.
