playstrategy.org aims to be the world’s best two player strategy games platform. Harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), playstrategy.org will be able to help players learn and improve their human or computer gameplay, training, AI analysis and feedback. In addition, AI is used to analyze games played on our platform and ensure that fair play is enforced.
The idea for playstrategy.org came in 2021 as a result of the prolonged global pandemic. The Mind Sports Olympiad (MSO), which is an annual festival of tournaments including many abstract games, had been forced online in 2020, away from the usual in person event based in London. In the 2020 MSO, there was a cheating incident in an Othello tournament, which highlighted the need for good cheat detection technology in order to ensure the integrity of serious online tournaments. Etan Ilfeld, an American entrepreneur who runs the MSO, wanted a high quality website that brought together all of the abstract games which the MSO hosts tournaments for - all powered by AI. That website is playstrategy.org!
playstrategy.org takes its inspiration from lichess.org - an open-source chess website. playstrategy has lots of different games alongside chess. New games will continually be added as will AI engines. For some games, this will be the first time that a public AI engine is introduced.
We believe everybody should have access to our website, but it doesn't come without costs. Servers are expensive, as is the development time to launch, maintain and improve a website like this. If you would like to help contribute to our expenses please consider becoming a patron.
We hope you enjoy playing on playstrategy.org!
