Nackgammon is a variant of Backgammon created by Nack Ballard, a top international backgammon player from the USA, who was rated world no.1 from 1999 to 2005.

Nackgammon has the same set of rules as Backgammon, the only difference is the starting setup, as seen above.

This variant is often longer than a regular game of Backgammon and requires more skill as the opportunity for aggressive 'blitzing' style play is limited, instead focusing on a defensive strategy and knowledge of 'back game' strategy.
